Dear Mr. Howell,
Arizona Public Service Company (APS) is requesting that the PVNGS degraded cornerstone supplemental inspection (IP 95002), originally scheduled for August 2005, instead be conducted in September 2005. Specifically, APS is requesting that the first onsite inspection activities would be conducted during the week of September 12, 2005.
APS is requesting this inspection scheduling change to ensure that the root and contributing causes for the failure to maintain portions of the emergency core cooling system (ECCS) filled with water are fully developed and that the extent of conditionkause and corrective actions are sufficient to prevent recurrence.
In conversation with your staff, we understand that this request should be acceptable.
