SUBJECT:
CATAWBA NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 2 RE: CORRECTIONS TO REQUEST TO USE ASME CODE (TAC NO. MC6809)
Dear Mr. Jamil:
By letter dated June 27, 2005 (Agencywide Documents Access Management System Accession No. ML051750616), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff granted a request to use the 1998 Edition, with the 2000 Addenda of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code,Section XI for the Catawba Nuclear Station, Unit 2 Third 10-year Inservice Inspection (ISI) Interval.
In its letter, the NRC staff incorrectly identified the applicable ISI interval as the third interval.
The letter should have stated that the applicable interval is the second interval. This incorrect citation was an administrative error. Enclosed is the corrected page from the NRC staffs evaluation. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have any questions, please contact me at (301) 415-1842.
Sincerely,
/RA/
