SUBJECT:
OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (RAI) RE: AMENDMENT NO. 18 to LICENSE R-75 (TAC NO. MC5198)
Dear Dean Baeslack:
We are continuing our review of your application amendment No. 18 to Facility Operating License No. R-75 for the Ohio State University Research Reactor (OSURR) which you submitted on December 9, 2004. In order for us to perform an adequate review, you are requested to provide, additional information. The amendment would add two existing positions between the Vice President of Business and Finance and the Director of Radiation Safety Section to the Administrative Organization, Figure 6.1, of the Technical Specifications (TS).
Those positions are the Assistant Vice President of Physical Facilities and the Associate Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety. Please discuss the reason for the requested change and explain the reason that you have determined that the change does not lessen the independence of the Radiation Safety Section from the OSU Nuclear Reactor Laboratory.
Your original application for this amendment request dated November 9, 2004, (ADAMS Accession No. ML043230410) was notarized but did not contain a statement of oath or affirmation. Please state in your response that the original application is also included under the oath or affirmation of your response.
Please provide the response within 90 days of the date of this letter. In accordance with 10 CFR 50.30(b), your response must be executed in a signed original under oath or affirmation. Please use the Regulatory Issue Summary 01-018 at the following URL as guidance for the oath or affirmation to ensure that it is executed properly.
