SUMMARY
OF THE MAY 11, 2005, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE BRAIDWOOD END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT On May 11, 2005, a public meeting was held at the Fossil Ridge Library, 386 Kennedy Road Braidwood, IL 60408. The meeting was between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Braidwood management and staff. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss NRCs assessment of Braidwoods performance for the period of January 1, 2004, through December 31, 2004. Mr. Keith Polson, the Site Vice-President, was present on behalf of Exelon.
During the NRC presentation, an overall assessment of Braidwoods performance was provided. As explained in the Annual Assessment letter from NRC to Mr. Christopher M. Crane, dated March 2, 2005, (reference ADAMS accession number ML050620309), Braidwood Units 1 and 2 operated in a manner that preserved public health and safety and fully met all cornerstone objectives.
Following the NRC presentation, Mr. Dave Passehl introduced the new Braidwood Resident Inspector, Mr. Gregory Roach. In addition, Mr. Passehl introduced Mr. Rob Ruiz, who was named the temporary Resident Inspector until the onsite arrival of Mr. Roach.
The meeting notice and NRC presentation can be found in ADAMS as ML051030276 and ML051370585 respectively. A list of NRC and licensee meeting participants can be found in the attached Enclosure. There were no members of the public in attendance at this meeting.
