NRC Question 1:

Based on a review of the attachments provided in PPL's submittal, the manufacturer states (and the European Certification Authority assumes) the V4 MTH2 suit is authorized for single-use only. Please confirm that the suit will be discarded after one use.

The PPL Respiratory Protection Plan will assure that the V4 MTH2 suits will not be used at Susquehanna SES in environments that are immediately deleterious to life and health.

NRC Question 3:

Verify that PPL has committed to timely reporting of any defects experienced with these suits to the manufacturer and other U.S. users.

PPL Response:

PPL will notify the suit manufacturer and other U.S. users of any defects experienced with these suits at Susquehanna SES in accordance with PPL's standard practice of notifying manufacturers and others of defects.

NRC Question 4:

While PPL committed to develop implementing procedures (and training lesson plans) for using the suits, please identify any of the manufacturer's technical information (i.e.,

instructions for use) and directions provided, that will not be required by procedures. For each instruction identified, explain the rationale for not including it in the program's procedures/training (and any other compensating actions).

PPL Response:

The manufacturer's technical information provided for the V4 MTH2 suit will be incorporated into PPL's Respiratory Protection Program. The manufacturer's Instructions For Use will be incorporated as procedures in PPL's Respiratory Protection Program. At the present time, PPL has not identified any manufacturer's technical information that will not be included in PPL's implementing procedures.
