SUMMARY

OF APRIL 6, 2005, MEETING WITH R. E. GINNA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, LLC REGARDING PROPOSED EXTENDED POWER UPRATE FOR GINNA (TAC NO. MC4033)

On April 6, 2005, a Category 1 public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of the licensee for the R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant (Ginna) at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the meeting was to exchange information with the NRC regarding their proposed extended power uprate (EPU) for Ginna. A formal license amendment request is scheduled to be submitted to the NRC for approval in June of 2005. A list of attendees is provided as Enclosure 1.

The licensee presented information (see Enclosure 2) on three areas of the proposed EPU:

(1) Probablistic Safety Analysis approach; (2) A discussion of the license amendment requests that will be submitted prior to the EPU and will support the EPU application; and (3) A description of the new fuel assemblies to be loaded during the 2006 refueling outage in support of the EPU.

Members of the public were not in attendance. Public meeting feedback forms were not received.
