Request for public meeting prior to Hope Creek restart Hello Randy:
Attached is a letter requesting that the NRC conduct a public meeting prior to the Hope Creek restart.
At the public meeting in January 2005, the NRC told us that the vibrating B recirc pump had not resulted in the inoperability of any safety-related components. That assurance no longer appears true with the recent thru-wall leak from a connection to the vibrating B recirc pump.
The public deserves to be updated on the NRC's revised logic for allowing this troubled reactor to continue operating despite numerous warning signs.
