maintenance, transmission line maintenance 1.0 Introduction The schedules shown in this procedure are the result of examining existing company standards at CP&L and Florida Power, industry practices, and new technologies that enable predictive maintenance techniques. These intervals were established to ensure that transmission line equipment and systems are pro-actively maintained to ensure efficiency and reliability.

2.0 Scope This procedure places the maintenance intervals in one location. This provides a quick means to determine the maintenance interval for a given type of equipment. This also permits required maintenance interval changes to be made in only one procedure. This procedure shall be followed in accordance with the Transmission Maintenance Procedures Policy (MNT-TRMX-00000).

3.0 Safety & Environment For the protection of our employees and the environment, employees should stay abreast of, and adhere to all safety rules, all established work practices, and all environmental compliance practices while performing maintenance on this equipment.

4.0 General Information Interval 4.1 Task CP&L Florida Power 4.1.1 Aerial Patrols (Includes line equipment & right of way inspection)

  • Each line has an individual danger tree cutting cycle. The cycle is prescribed by evaluating the right of way width, the type of line construction, the type of easement, and the vegetation.
