- PROGRESS ENERGY, BRUNSWICK STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT - DOCKET NOS. 50-325, 50-324

Dear Mr. Gannon:

This letter refers to the meeting conducted at your request at the Region II Office, Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center, 61 Forsyth Street SW, Atlanta, Georgia, 30303-8931 in Suite 24T20 on January 28, 2005. The meetings purpose was to discuss performance of the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant. Enclosed are a list of attendees and the presentation handout.

During the presentation, Mr. Neil Gannon, Site Vice-President, provided the introduction and overview, highlighting organization and management changes at the Brunswick site and the Progress Energy Voluntary Early Retirement Program (VERP). Mr. Tim Cleary, Director of Site Operations, provided a plant update of Units 1 and 2 to include 2004 highlights and challenges.

Mr. Ed Quidley, Manager of Outage & Scheduling, discussed plans for the upcoming Spring 2005 Unit 2 refueling outage. Mr. Ed ONeil, Manager of Nuclear Services & Regulatory Affairs, reviewed 2004 emergency preparedness activities and license renewal milestones. Finally, Mr.

Allen Brittain, Superintendent of Security, presented status of site security.
