The purpose of this CR is to identify the need to develop an Project Plan with team members and R
actions necessary to prepare Davis-Besse for a cracked CRDM J-groove weld. All three units at R
Oconee and and one unit at ANO have inspected for and found cracked J-groove welds arround their CRDM nozzles. These nozzles penetrate the reactor vessel head. This CR will provide the G
vehicle for formulating the inspection and repair plan for Davis-Besse during our next oulage. A i
Team will need to be put together to formulate the plan and implement the necessary actions to N
prepare Davis-Besse for this emerging industry issue. The Team should consist of Engineering, A
Maintenance, Outage Management, RP, Licensing and assigned a Project Manager to lead the T.. station through the necessary steps to be prepared for inspection and repair of the CRDM nozzles.
