3 RX trip following a turbine trip on loss of generator field due to a lightning strike.
SUMMARY
- The Design Electrical Rating (DER) and the Maximum Dependable Capacity (MDC) reflect the power uprate performed in 2003. These are interim values. Official values approved by station owners will be determined after testing is completed at the end of the 3rd quarter (late summer). Unit began month at full power. On 7/14 an automatic RX trip occurred after a lightning strike caused a turbine trip on loss of generator field. The RX was taken critical on 07/16 and synchronized to the grid on 07117. RX power reached 100% the following day. The unit ended the month at full power.
