HPCI Turbine Steam Supply Outboard Isolation Valve, E4150F003, maximum allowable isolation time of 15 seconds is based on rated conditions of voltage, temperature, and differential pressure.
The valve position is normally closed.
Pipe break protection is provided by the isolation of either the normally open bypass valve, E4150F600, or the inboard isolation valve, E4150F002.
The valve is required to isolate upon a HPCI shutdown to isolate the steam piping from the main steam line and to provide primary containment integrity. A maximum stroke time of 35 seconds with degraded voltage, high temperature, and', maximum expected differential pressure is acceptable since the HPCI steam piping is a closed system outside of primary containment.
The valve isolation time acceptance criteria at normal test conditions is 15 seconds to ensure a maximum isolation time of 35 seconds is not exceeded with degraded voltage, high temperature, MEDP.
