SUMMARY
OF THE MAY 13, 2004, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS LICENSEE PERFORMANCE AND PLANNED ACTIVITIES AS PART OF THE MANUAL CHAPTER 0350 PROCESS AT THE DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWER STATION On May 13, 2004, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting at the Ottawa County Court House School in Port Clinton, Ohio. The meeting was between the NRC Davis-Besse Oversight Panel and FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) to discuss licensee performance and planned activities as part of the Manual Chapter 0350 process at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station. The letter of notification, meeting notice, NRC presentation, and licensee presentation can be found in ADAMS as ML041210223, ML041210233, ML041340383, and ML041340685, respectively. The transcript of the meeting will be made publicly available in ADAMS and on the NRCs Davis-Besse web page when it is available. A list of NRC and licensee meeting participants can be found in the attached Enclosure. The NRC approved restart of the facility on March 8, 2004. Agenda topics included plant performance since restart, discussion of the status of the licensees improvement initiatives, performance monitoring and independent assessments; and the results from a recent nuclear quality assessment of plant performance.
