I would like to personally invite you and other members of your organization to attend a meeting between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and AmerGen Energy Company in which the NRC staff will discuss with AmerGen our annual assessment of the safety performance of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Station.
The NRC recently completed its annual assessment of the safety performance of Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Plant in accordance with the NRC Reactor Oversight Process. Our assessment used the most recent performance indicator data and inspection findings from January 1, 2003 through December 31, 2003. We described our assessment results in a letter to AmerGen on March 3, 2004.

Dear Mr. Waldron:
I would like to personally invite you and other members of your organization to attend a meeting between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and AmerGen Energy Company in which the NRC staff will discuss with AmerGen our annual assessment of the safety performance of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Station.
The NRC recently completed its annual assessment of the safety performance of Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Plant in accordance with the NRC Reactor Oversight Process. Our assessment used the most recent performance indicator data and inspection findings from January 1, 2003 through December 31, 2003. We described our assessment results in a letter to AmerGen on March 3, 2004.
A copy of that letter is enclosed. The NRCs meeting notice, meeting agenda, and assessment letter can be found in the meeting package, which has been entered into ADAMS, the NRC records system (Accession Number ML040640839). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web Site at:

The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2004, at the Lacey Township Municipal Building, Forked River, New Jersey. At the meeting we will briefly discuss our Reactor Oversight Process and then discuss with AmerGen our assessment of their safety performance at Oyster Creek and their response to our assessment. The meeting is open to the public for observation. Following the presentation, the NRC staff will be available to answer questions from you and members of the public regarding the safety performance of Oyster Creek and the role of the NRC in ensuring safe plant operations.
