Dear Chief Weiss:
On behalf of Governor Craig Benson, I am requesting that the State of New Hampshire be provided with a stockpile of 65 mg. potassium iodide (KI) tablets to serve the youth and juvenile populations residing within the Emergency Planning Zones (EPZs) for the Seabrook Station and Vermont Yankee nuclear power plants.
It is our intent to utilize this supplemental stockpile in accordance with a plan that has been submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Our plan includes a system for pre-distribution of KI within each of the EPZs, as well as distribution from the state-operated evacuation reception centers during'an emergency event.
The table below summarizes our KI needs for the State of New Hampshire:
