Dear Ms. Laureigh:

I am responding on behalf of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to the Lacey Township Committees Resolution #03-372, dated December 23, 2003. The resolution stated that the Mayor and Township Committee support the continued operation of Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station [Oyster Creek] for an additional 20 years beyond 2009, and encourage the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to approve expeditiously Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Stations license renewal extension application should it meet the Commissions relevant requirements.

The licensee recently announced its intention to seek renewal of the operating license for 20 more years, and plans to submit the application in mid-2005. This letter acknowledges NRCs receipt of your resolution, and we will add your resolution to the NRC records associated with Oyster Creek. Thank you for your interest in the NRCs work. Please feel free to contact the NRC Project Manager, Mr. Peter Tam at 301-415-1451, if you have any future questions regarding Oyster Creek.
