SUMMARY
OF JANUARY 14, 2004, MEETING WITH ENERGY NORTHWEST ON THE ALTERNATIVE SOURCE TERM LICENSE AMENDMENT On January 14, 2004, representatives of Energy Northwest met with the NRC staff to discuss the submittal of an alternative source term (AST) license amendment for the Columbia Generating Station.
Energy Northwest began the meeting with the purpose for submitting an AST license amendment and the scope of the changes that would result from its implementation. The meeting continued with a discussion concerning the draw down analysis and a proposed change to the surveillance requirements. Energy Northwest discussed the modeling of the reactor building and differences from the previous submittal. The staff was pleased to see Energy Northwests commitment to ensure the highest quality submittal. Energy Northwest proposed a submittal schedule that the staff felt could be met. At the end of the meeting, the staff expressed their appreciation for the presentation.
