SUBJECT:

BEAVER VALLEY POWER STATION, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 (BVPS-1 and 2) -

WITHDRAWAL OF AN AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NOS. MB8011 AND MB8012)

Dear Mr. Pearce:

By letter dated March 11, 2003, you applied for amendments to the BVPS-1 and 2, Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-66 and NPF-73, respectively. The proposed change would have modified the facilities technical specifications (TSs) to include listing of the Westinghouse best-estimate large-break loss-of-cooling accident (LOCA) methodology in TS 6.9.5, Core Operating Limits Report (COLR), thereby approving its use in the LOCA accident analysis.

Subsequently, by letter dated September 5, 2003, you withdrew the amendment request.

The Commission has filed the enclosed Notice of Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License with the Office of the Federal Register for publication.

Sincerely,

/RA/
