DRAFT REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TS Changes Related to RCS Operational Leakage (TAC NO. MB3126)
INSERT B to page B 3/4 4-5 of Attachment 3 to the licensees letter dated October 1, 2001, states, in part, that... The requirements of Surveillance Requirement 4.4.6.2.2 to verify that a pressure isolation valve is OPERABLE shall be performed within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
after the required RCS pressure has been met.
The licensee has not specified the time to initiate the RCS pressurization for the PIV leakage testing. It is not clear that the added information to the basis is consistent with the required time constraint for PIV leakage testing (within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
after the PIV has been reseated) in SR 4.4.6.2.2.d, which requires that the PIV leakage testing shall be performed within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
following valve actuation due to automatic or manual action or flow through the valve. Provide information to clarify the consistency between the SR and the added basis related to the time constraint for the PIV testing.
