RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS ON DECOMMISSIONING STATUS REPORT FOR WOLF CREEK GENERATING STATION (WCGS)
By letter dated March 27, 2001, Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation submitted the status of decommissioning funding for WCGS in accordance with 10 CFR 50.75(f)(1). In reviewing the letter, the staff found that the following required information was not included in the report:
- 1. Any contracts upon which the licensee is relying pursuant to 10 CFR 50.75(e)(1)(v): If there are no such contracts, then the licensee must state "None." If there are, the licensee should state "Yes," and provide NRC with a copy of the contract(s).
- 2. Any modifications to a licensees current method of providing financial assurance since the last submitted report: If there are no such modifications, the licensee should state "None." If there are, the modifications should be briefly described, and relevant documents submitted to NRC.
Attached is the e-mail dated February 27, 2002, that provided the answers to the above two questions. The licensee stated that (1) there are no contracts that are being relied upon pursuant to 10 CFR 50.75(e)(1)(v), and (2) there were no modifications to the current method of providing financial assurance since the last submitted report.

RE: Questions on Report on Status of Wolf Creek Decommissioning Funding Jack - in accordance with your e-mail of February 28, 2002, this e-mail provides a response to the 2 questions that were submitted electronically on February 15, 2002. In preparing the report on the status of decommissioning funding, the questions were reviewed, however, it was initially believed that a response was not necessary. We have annotated the appropriate mechanisms to ensure these questions are answered in future reports.
Response to Question 1: There are no contracts that are being relied upon pursuant to 10 CFR 50.75(e)(1)(v).
Response to Question 2: There were no modifications to the current method of providing financial assurance since the last submitted report.
