a Xcel Energym January 17,2012 U S Nuclear Regulatory Commission ATTN: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555-0001 Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant Unit 1 Docket 50-282 Renewed License No. DPR-42 Readiness for Supplemental 95001 Inspection By letter dated August 17,2011, (ADAMS Accession Number M L I 1223A211) the NRC staff provided Northern States Power Company, a Minnesota corporation, d/b/a Xcel Energy (hereafter "NSPM") with the final significance determination of white finding and notice of violation for failure of the safety-related battery chargers on Unit Ito maintain the DC electrical power subsystems operable in Modes 1 through 4, from December 21, 1994, to approximately October 22, 201 0. The root cause evaluation of the inadequate battery chargers has been completed. This letter serves as notification to the NRC staff of readiness for the supplemental 95001 inspection.
