50-335 and 50-389 Task Action Plan I.D.2 Safety Parameter Display System Generic Letter 89-06 By Generic Letter 89-06 (GL 89-06) dated April 12, 1989, the NRC requested licensees to certify the status of the Safety Parameter Display System (SPDS),
TMI item I.D.2, at their facilities.
Florida Power
& Light Company (FPL) has reviewed the SPDSs at St.
Lucie Units 1 and 2 as requested by GL 89-06.
FPL certifies that the St. Lucie Units 1 and 2
SPDSs meet the requirements of NUREG-
- 0737, Supplement 1.
Additionally, as requested by the generic
- letter, FPL has taken into account the information provided in NUREG-1342;
- however, FPL's certification is limited to meeting NUREG-0737 Supplement 1 requirements.
Generic Letter 89-06 requested that licensees provide their certifications within 90 days of April 12, 1989 (i.e., by July 14, 1989).
FPL did not receive this generic letter until May 15, 1989.
An extension to the due date for responding to this generic letter was requested by FPL and granted by the NRC Turkey Point Plant Project Manager in the absence of the NRC St. Lucie Plant Project Manager.
Accordingly, we are providing this response within 90 days of receipt of GL 89-06.
