Attachment SELECT SYSTEM REVIEW OCTOBER 1988 PROGRESS Desi n Basis Reconstitution Phase II review of historic Plant Changes/Modifications (PC/M's) under the Risk Based Assessment program is continuing.
This has been incorporated into the Design Basis Verification task discussed below.
Reconstitution of design bases for Area Radiation Monitoring, Process Radiation Monitoring and Normal Containment Cooling was completed with the issuance of draft design basis documents.
This completes FPL's commitment regarding this task.
Design Basis Verification for these systems will proceed in accordance with the Integrated Schedule.
Completion of this activity is scheduled for June 1,
1989.
Design Basis Verification activities for the original fifteen Select Systems continues in accordance with the Integrated Schedule.
Completion of this activity is scheduled for May 8, 1989.
Walkdowns Unit 3

& ID and Small Bore Piping and Tubing walkdowns of Area Radiation Monitoring, Process Radiation Monitoring and Normal Containment Cooling are proceeding in accordance with the Integrated Schedule.

Containment Small Bore Piping and Tubing walkdowns are scheduled for completion by the end of the current refueling outage.
Other Si nificant Pro ress Efforts are underway on Unit 4 outage related modifications and repairs identified by the Integrated Schedule as FPL's commitments to the NRC under this program.
The task to provide a permanent nitrogen backup system to the main steam isolation valves has been replaced by a modification to add air accumulators in place of the nitrogen system.
