Docket No. 50-335 Second Ten-Year Inservice Test. Pro, ram By letter L-85-431 dated November 13, 1985, Florida Power 8 Light Company (FPL) requested NRC's approval to extend the first ten-year inspection interval for St. Lucie Unit I to February I I, 1988.
By letter dated November 20, 1985 (Denton to Williams), the NRC staff approved the extension and, as a result, the second ten-year inservice testing interval for St. Lucie Unit I will begin on February I I, 1988.
The purpose of this letter is to transmit the proposed St. Lucie Unit I Inservice Test Program for the second ten-year interval.
The enclosed document describes the basis and plans for the Second Ten-Year Inservice Test Program for St. Lucie Unit I.
The Inservice Valve Test Program shall be conducted in accordance with Subsection IWV,Section XI, Division I, of the 1983 Edition of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code through Summer 1983 Addenda, except for specific relief requested in accordance with 10 CFR 50.55a (g)(5)(iii).
The Inservice Pump Test Program shall be conducted in accordance with Subsection IWP,Section XI, Division I, of the 1983 Edition of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code through Summer 1983 Addenda, except for specific relief requested in accordarice with 10 CFR 50.55a (g)(5)(iii).
FPL plans to submit revised technical specifications with respect to inservice
- testing, superceding the original submittals of 1977 and 1978.
With approval pending on the original lnservice Testing Technical Specification submittal, FPL decided to revise the subject technical specifications in order to reflect changes in the Combustion Engineering - Standard Technical Specifications and to reflect the format of the St. Lucie Unit 2 Technical Specifications.
FPL plans to submit the revised technical specifications in September, 1987.
