Dear Mr.' Denton:
Re: St. Lucie Units I and 2 Docket Nos. 50-335 and 50-389 ATWS Implementation Schedule By letters L-85-309 dated August 16,1985 and L-85-392 dated October 14, 1985, Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) provided a plca to. address the implementation of the ATWS Rule 10 CFR 50.62 at its St. Lucie Plant. FPL stated it was a member of the Combustion Engineering Owners Group (CEOG)
ATWS Subcommittee and was participating in discussions with the NRC Staff to resolve the ATWS implementation issue at Combustion Engineering Plants.
FPL committed to provide NRC the St. Lucie schedule for implementation of the ATWS Rule 90 days offer NRC completed its review of the CEOG approach to ATWS. The NRC Staff evaluation of the CEOG ATWS approach was issued by letter dated August 4,1986 (D. M. Crutchfield to R. W. Wells).
FPL plans to have the plant specific submittal addressing the information designated in the Generic CEOG evaluation prepared by July 15, 1987.
The remainder of the implementation schedule con be estimated after the NRC completes its review of the FPL submittal.
