Turkey Point Units 3 & 4 Docket Nos. 50-250, 50-251 IE Bulletin 82-02 Florida Power & Light has reviewed IE Bulletin 82-02 (Degradation of Threaded Fasteners in the Reactor Coolant Pressure Boundary of PWR Plants) as. it pertains to Turkey Point Units 3 & 4.

In response to Action Item 3 of the subject bulletin, we have 1) identified the bolted closures of the Reactor Coolant Pressure Boundary (RCPB) having a nominal diameter of 6 inches or greater as dictated by the scope of this bulletin; 2) identified those bolted closures of the RCPB that have experienced leakage during the most recent plant operating cycle; and

3) identified those closures where fastener lubricants have been or are being used including types of lubricants.

Table 1 is a summary of the above information.

Please note that our control rod drive flanges have an omega seal weld design and thus are excluded from this bulletin action. The type and manufacturer names of lubricants associated with each item are listed in Table 1.

Never Sieze is a nickel powder in a mineral oil carrier. Molykote Z is made up primarily of molybdenum disulfide.

Neolube consists of colloidal graphite in isopropanol.

Fel-Pro N-5000 is a proprietary nickel graphite mixture.

Injection sealant materials are not used on reactor coolant pressure boundary bolted closures at Turkey Point.

Fifty-four manhours were required to review he Bulletin and to prepare this portion of the response.
