RII:JPO 50-335 IE BULLETIN 79-14 As of September 14, 1979, more than 1200 hangers/restraints have been inspected out of approximately 2200 hangers/restraints comprising the scope of the program.

During a September 4 - 5 outage, approxi-mately 150 "inaccessible" hangers in containment were inspected.

Of those hangers/restraints which have been inspected, fewer than 10 deviations have been identified that may result in physical modifications (non-conforming items).

These items are presently being analyzed to resolve the deviation, or develop the required modifica-tion.

During the scheduled plant outage for the week of September 23 (for feedwater pipe inspection per Bulletin 79-13) plans have been firmed to inspect approximately 350 normally inaccessible hangers inside containment representing the containment spray system.

The results of the inspections performed to date indicate less than a lX defect rate.

Based on the results of these inspections, Florida Power 8 Light Company requests deferral of the remaining normally inaccessible hangers/restraints until the scheduled Spring-1980 refueling outage.

Please respond to our deferral request by September 24, 1979, so that we will be able to facilitate our planning for the outage, which will have begun on September 23.
