83-28 and FPL Letter circuit breakers quarterly, necessary since the failure rate history is low. The L-85-277 industry standard maintenance is 18 months. The vendor recommends annual maintenance. NRC safety evaluation report dated January 7, 1985 stated that a 6-month frequency was acceptable.
In FPL letter L-85-277, FPL committed to quarterly maintenance. FPL has revised this commitment and currently performs maintenance on reactor trip circuit breakers (RTCB) on a semi-annual (6-month) basis.
Licensee Event Report Submit fire exemption for Gold Bond FPL repaired Gold Bond fire seals to a 3-hour 335 2003-003-01 / FPL fire seals rating. Actual corrective action is better - barriers letter L-2004-027 will meet 3-hour ratings. Repair of Gold Bond fire seals was competed under work order numbers I_
