NRC letter to TVA, "Assessment Followup Letter and Updated lnspection Plan forWatts Bar Nuclear Plant Units 1 and2 (Reports 05000390, 0500039 1 /20 1 8005),' dated Aug ust 31, 20 1 8 (ML1 B242A4SB) ln the referenced letter, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) informed Teinnessee Valley Authority (TVA) of its plans for a future inspection of the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (WBN) Unit 2, in accordance with lnspection Procedure 95001, "supplemental lnspection Response to Action Matrix Column 2 lnputs." As noted in the referenced letter, the purpose of this supplemental inspection is to assess the WBN Unit 2 performance indicator (Pl) for the Unplanned Scrams per 7000 Critical Hours Pl having crossed the greento-white threshold.

As requested in the attached letter, TVA is hereby notifying the NRC of WBN's readiness for the subject inspection. WBN has completed a root cause analysis pertaining to the white performance indicator regarding the number of reactor scrams on WBN Unit 2. Based on discussions with NRC staff, TVA requests the NRC commence the inspection on December 10,2018.
