) Specifications, for Clinton Power Station (CPS). That application contained' proposed changes to_the. Action
. Statements for CPS Technical Specification.3/4.3.4.1, "ATWS-Recirculation Pump Trip System Instrumentation," to address:
' (1) one trip system being inoperable (proposed Action Statement "b"), (2) two trip'cystems being inoperable due to each trip system having one inoperable channel.(proposed Action Statement "c"), and (3) both trip systems being incperable for any other reason (proposed. Action Statement "d"). Proposed Action Statements "b" and'"c" also included-an exception to the provisions of Technical Specification' 3.0.4.
After further consideration, IP has determined that
-these proposed- exceptions: to Technical Specification 3.0.4 are no longerfnecessary.- Although IP continues to believe
-that,there would-beradequate assurence that the ATWS Recirculation Pump = Trip _instrumcatation would be!available when required with-the-proposed ~oxceptions to Technical Specification'3.0.4, IPLhas concluded that the probability of.needing such.an exception la low. Therefore,-IP proposes
'that-these exceptions-to Technical Specification 3.0.4 be deleted .from JP's; December -17, 1990 application for-amendment.
