Dear Sir or Madam:

On March 18, 2002, Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (ENO) submitted its response to the Interim Safeguards and Security Compensatory Measures Order (Order, Reference 1) issued by the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on February 25, 2002. As a result of telephone discussions with the NRC staff, ENO is clarifying its prior response (Reference 2) to include additional information.

Pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR § 50.4 the attachment to this letter contains Entergy's supplemental responses to Sections B.5.c, B.5.d and B.5.e of the Order. These responses supercede and replace the responses submitted with Reference 2. The attached responses identify the current schedule dates for completion of the Order requirements based upon the currently available information. As required by the Order the actions to implement the Order have been started and unless relief has been requested all of the actions will be completed no later than August 31, 2002. Attachment 1 to this response contains safeguards information, as defined in 10 CFR § 73.21. Entergy therefore requests that this attachment be withheld from public disclosure.

NOTICE:

Attachment I contains "Safeguards Information".

Upon separation of Attachment I from this letter it becomes "DECONTROLLED"

SAFEGUARDS INFORMATION Pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR § 2.202(a)(2), the answer to the Order, was transmitted to the Secretary of the Commission under separate cover. Also transmitted under separate cover to the Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation was a request for an extension of time in which to request a hearing. A copy of the supplemental responses is also being provided to the Secretary of the Commission and the Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.

As required by Condition C.2 of the Order, Entergy will notify the Commission when full compliance has been achieved.
