APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Public Service Electric and Gas Company Docket No. 50-354
~ Hope Creek Generating Station License No. CPPR-120 As a result of the inspection conducted on September 24-October 27, 1985, and in accordance with NRC Enforcement Policy (10 CFR 2, Appendix C), the following violation was identified:
10 CFR 50 Appendix B Criterion V, Instructions, Procedures and Drawings, requires that activities affecting quality shall be accomplished in accordance with instructions, procedures, or drawings. Drawing E-1408, Revision 19, August 26, 1985, Wire and Cable Notes and Details, requires cables in cable trays to be tied to the rungs at maximum intervals of 5 feet for vertical trays.
Contrary to the above, as of September 27, 1985, several safety-related cable trays at floor penetration E-4301-4 had vertical cable spans of six to twelve feet between the penetration seal and the first tie to a cable tray rung.
This is a Severity IV Level Violation (Supplement II).
The immediate corrective actions for this item were completed during the inspec-tion and verified by the NRC inspector.
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, Public Service Electric and Gas Company is hereby required to submit to this ' office within 30 days of the date of the letter which transaitted this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including:
(1) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations; and (2) the date when full compliance will be achieved. Where good cause is shown, consideration will be given to extending this response time.
