SUBJECT:

WATTS BAR NUCLEAR PLANT - NRC SUPPLEMENTAL INSPECTION REPORT 05000390/2008405 AND 05000391/2008405

Dear Mr. Campbell:

On November 4, 2008, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed a supplemental inspection pursuant to inspection procedure 95001 at your Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2. The enclosed report documents the inspection results, which were discussed on November 4, 2008, with Mr G. Boerschig and other members of your staff.

The inspection examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to safety and compliance with the Commissions rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license.

The inspectors reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed personnel.

Based on the results of this inspection, no findings of significance were identified. The inspectors determined that the problem identification, root cause, and corrective actions for the White finding were generally adequate. Therefore, the White inspection finding, Violation 05000390, 391/2008404-01, is considered closed.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system, ADAMS.

ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room). However, because of the security-related concerns contained in the enclosure, and in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, a copy of this letters enclosure will not be available for public inspection.
