KEWAUNEE POWER STATION - NRC SUPPLEMENTAL INSPECTION REPORT 05000305/2009408
Dear Mr. Heacock:
On December 18, 2009, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed a supplemental inspection at your Kewaunee Power Station. The enclosed inspection report documents the inspection results, which were discussed with Mr. M. Crist and other members of your staff at the exit and regulatory performance meeting conducted on December 18, 2009.
The NRC was informed on November 9, 2009, of your staffs readiness for this inspection.
As required by the NRCs Security Action Matrix, this supplemental inspection was conducted to provide assurance that: (1) the root and contributing causes of the Greater than Green finding are understood; (2) the extent of condition and extent of cause are identified; and (3) your corrective actions are sufficient to address the root causes and contributing causes and to prevent recurrence. The inspection consisted of plant walkdowns, a selected examination of representative records, and interviews with personnel.
Based on the results of this supplemental inspection, no findings of significance were identified.
Enclosure transmitted herewith contains Sensitive Unclassified Non-Safeguards Information. When separated from enclosure, this transmittal document is decontrolled.
