NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-280/99-03, 50-281/99-03
Dear Mr. O'Hanlon:
On May 22, 1999, the NRC completed an inspection at your Surry Power Station Units 1 and 2.
The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
During the six-week period covered by this inspection period, your conduct of activities at the Surry facilities was generally characterized by safety-conscious operations, sound engineering and maintenance practices, and careful radiological work controls.
- Based on the results of this inspection, the NRC has determined that two violations of NRC requirements occurred. The violations are being treated as Non-Cited Violations (NCVs),
consistent with Appendix C of the Enforcement Policy. The NCVs are described in the subject inspection report. If you contest these violations or the severity level of the NCVs, you should provide a response within 30 days of the date of this inspection report, with the basis for your denial, to the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ATTN: Document Control Desk, Washington, D.C. 20555-0001, with a copy to the Regional Administrator, Region II, and the Director, Office of Enforcement, United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, D.C. 20555-0001.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2. 790 of the NRC's * "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
