Areas Inspected:

Special Nuclear Material Control and Accountability Inspection, including possession, use, and accounting of SNM.

This included review of Facility Organization and Operation; Measurement and Statistical Controls; Shipping and Receiving, Storage and Internal Controls; Inventory and Records and Reports.

Results:

The licensee was found to be in compliance _with NRC requirements in

the areas examined.

The licensee limited his possession and use of special nuclear material (SNM) to the locations and purposes authorized under license SNM-247. The licensee implemented an adequate and effective program to account for and control SNM in his possession.

At the beginning of the inspection, Mr. D. Freeman ~of the

licensee's staff was informed of the purpose of this visit

and the functional areas to be examined.

The inspector met with Mr. Freeman at the conclusion of the inspection on July 13, 1993. A general description of the scope of the inspection was provided.

The licensee acknowledged the inspector's comments that no violations were identified during this inspection.

Exhibits A, B, and C, which are enclosed with this report, reflect the low and high enriched uranium and plutonium activity for the inspection period.
