[lJ Temporary Job Site Inspection Arcelormittal Bums Harbor, Chesterton, IN PROGRAM SCOPE This was an unannounced escalated enforcement followup inspection of a wireline services company authorized by the State of Texas to possess and use sealed and unsealed sources of byproduct material for well logging and tracer operations at a facility in Pearland, Texas, and at temporary job sites within the State. The purpose of this inspection was to verify the completion and assess the effectiveness of corrective actions taken in response to a SLIII violation for failure to file for reciprocity, identified during an unannounced field inspection by the NRC on May 18, 201 PERFORMANCE OBSERVATIONS:

The inspectors confirmed that the licensee had taken corrective actions as described in its written response dated August 28, 2017. The inspectors noted that on March 28, 2018 the licensee filed with the NRC to conduct work on the premises of an integrated steel mill in Chesterton, Indiana under reciprocity. Region IV approved that request on April 4, 201 The inspectors visited the job site in Chesterton and observed the licensee's crew perform a series of tracer studies on one of four disposal wells. The inspectors conducted independent surveys to confirm that the licensee had adequately posted and restricted access to the site. The inspector interviewed the crew to discuss the use of logging tools, conduct of area surveys, contamination control, and conduct of work in various regulatory jurisdictions under reciprocity. The inspectors noted that the crew were knowledgeable of radiation protection principles and licensee procedures, wore adequate personnel dosimetry, and used calibrated and operable survey instrumentation. Following the completion of these studies, the inspectors observed the crew's closeout surveys and performed additional confirmatory surveys of the well head, readings from which were indistinguishable from backgroun The inspector identified no additional examples of the aforementioned violation, and determined that the licensee had implemented effective corrective actions to restore compliance and address the potential for recurrence. Therefore, the SLIII violation is closed. No other violations ofNRC requirements were identified as a result of this inspectio NRG FORM 591M PART 3 (07-2012)
