Description

Technical Specification 5.7.1 states, in part, that each high radiation area, as defined in 10 CFR Part 20, shall be barricaded and conspicuously posted as a high radiation area. Contrary to the above, on April 20, 2016, an accessible area of the auxiliary building 185 feet south, new fuel pool heat exchanger room, was a high radiation area as defined in 10 CFR Part 20 and was not barricaded or conspicuously posted. This finding was determined to be of very low safety significance (Green) because the finding was not an ALARA planning issue, there was no overexposure or potential for overexposure, and the licensees ability to assess dose was not compromised. The licensee entered this issue into the corrective action program as Condition Report CR-GGN-2016-03482.
