Crystal River Unit 3 - Emergency Response Data System
Dear Sir:
The purpose of this letter is to provide a 30 day report to the NRC required by 10CFR50, Appendix E, Section VI.3.a.
On September 10, 2012, Florida Power Corporation (FPC) implemented software modifications due to a design change that replaced airborne radioactivity monitors RM-A1 (Containment Purge Exhaust Duct) and RM-A2 (Auxiliary Building and Fuel Handling Area Exhaust Duct). This design change required that modifications be made, in part, to the Emergency Response Data System (ERDS) Data Point Library for Crystal River Unit 3 (CR-3).
The new airborne radioactivity monitors use two (2) noble gas channels per system instead of the three (3) noble gas channels per system used in the old airborne radioactivity monitors.
Data points W324, W325, W329 and W330 have been revised.
The high range noble gas information previously transmitted by data points W326 (RM-A1) and W331 (RM-A2) are now part of the information transmitted by data points W325 and W330.
Data points W326 and W331 will be re-used for non-ERDS purposes and are deleted from the CR-3 ERDS Data Point Library.
No new regulatory commitments are contained in this letter.
