Interim Report Concerning an Evaluation of Deviation Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 1 NRC Docket No. 50-313 Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-51 This is to notify the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that, in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 21.21(a)(2), Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy) is unable to complete a 10 CFR 21 evaluation within the 60-day regulatory required timeline based on the time needed to perform additional reviews. Preliminary analysis has determined that the Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 1 (ANO-1) dose analyses for the Steam Generator Tube Rupture (SGTR) design basis analysis is non-conservative. Based on this determination, Entergy initiated a 10 CFR 21 evaluation on November 19, 2020, to determine whether a defect exists associated with the dose analyses for the ANO-1 SGTR event.

The reviews of the appropriate models are expected to be complete by March 15, 2021. In the interim, compensatory measures have been implemented to ensure that calculated doses would comply with the limits in 10 CFR 50.67(b)(2).

This letter contains no new regulatory commitments.
