Dear Mr. Grier:

In accordance with Appendix A, Beaver Valley Technical Spacifications, Licensee Event Report LER 81-68/0lP, Technical Specification 6.9.1.8.1 and 3.7.15, is submitted. These occurrences are being reported late due to an oversight in the reporting requirements. The problems were found during the course of the normal daily inspection activities of the Beaver Valley Resident Inspectors, Mr. D. A. Becknan and Mr. J. A. Hegner.

NRC Inspection Report 81-15 notes that in the inspection period between 6,1/81 and 7/5/81, two open and unattended fire doors were found in the primary auxiliary building. In both instances following notification, fire watches were posted and door repairs made in accordance with the action statement requiremente of Technical Specification 3.7.15.

NRC Inspection Report 81-18 notes that in the inspection period between 7/5/81 and 8/2/81, e single conduit fire barrier penetration between the'AE and DF switchgear rooms was found unpacked and unattended.

Imrediate corrective actions'taken involved the temporary repackJng of the barrier with an approved fire retardant material.

As a result of these findings, a review cf the construction department.

procedures which involve fire barriers wac made by the Senior Safety Engineer.
