Description

10 CFR 55.21, Medical Examination, requires in part that, A licensee shall have a medical examination by a physician every two years. This period expires at the end of the calendar month of the two year anniversary of the previous physical. Contrary to 10 CFR 55.21, Medical Examination, the licensee identified that two licensed reactor operators had expired licensed operator physicals. One licensed reactor operator had performed licensed duties for thirty two (32) hours after the physical had elapsed. The other licensed operator had not performed licensed duties with an expired physical. The licensee took immediate corrective actions to have the operators examined by a physician and there were no adverse changes in the operators physical conditions since the last physical. Based upon this, the violation was of very low safety significance. The licensee entered this issue into their corrective action program as CRs 08-45075 and 08-45291.
