In accordance with Technical Specification Section 6.9.4.2.b, the Sacramento Municipal Utility District hereby submits a thirty-day report of Reportaole Occurrence 81-38.

On July 13, with the reactor operating at full power, the first of a series of fi re door inspect ions was performed in accordance with SP 201.03L. This and three subsequent inspections revealed thirty-seven apparently unacceptable fire doors.

Twenty-three were found to be acceptable, nine requi red repai r or replacement of latches or hinges, two requi red rework to give a proper gap, two requi red repai r of holes, and one requi red removal of an obst ruction.

Firewatches were established at all degraded fire barriers.

All repairs will be complete by November 4, 1981.

The above inspections were the first fire door inspections required by a Technical Specifi-cation revision.

It is expected that with the specified repairs future fire door inspectiois will reveal signi ficant ly fewer degraded fire doors.

No plant transient or powor reduct ions were associated wi th these events.
