sk Krgy /

In accordance with Technical Specification Appen' ix B, Sections 2.4 and 5.6.2.C, the Sacramento Municipal Utility District hereby submits a ten day report of Reportable Occurrence 81-36.

Mr. H. North of the NRC was notified verbally of the occurrence by Mr. F. Kellie.

On July 13, a review of plant effluent records for June revealed twelve instances.of up to one hour in duration, when the plant effluent pH exceeded allowable levels.

Most apparent-violations occurred while work was being done on the instrumentation, leading to spurious indications.

Several violations occurred during set-up of the dilution necessary to bring the pH within specification.

Several were also due to high pH in the dilution water and poor sampling techniques. One was due to a' leaky valve on a chemical storage tank drain.

The leaking valve was isolated and is being repaired. The possibility of adding an automatic recirculation system to the plant effluent outlet is being investigated.

No plant transient or power reductions were associated with these events.
