Letter, D. Curtland (NextEra Energy Duane Arnold, LLC) to U.S. NRC, "Transmittal Of Revision 24 Of The DAEC Updated Final Safety Analysis Report And The Current DAEC Technical Specifications Bases," NG-17-0086 dated April 28, 2017 In the referenced letter, NextEra Energy Duane Arnold, LLC transmitted the latest revision (No. 24) of the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) for the Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC). Enclosures 2 and 3 included 1 DVD-ROM each containing the non-public and public version of the DAEC UFSAR, respectively, in electronic format. These DVD-ROMs each contained 218 electronic files which together constituted the DAEC UFSAR in its entirety.

Discussion with the Staff has indicated that this large number of individual files will require significant resources to input into ADAMs. The Staff requested the DAEC UFSAR be resubmitted to the Document Control Desk in a format that combined the existing file into a more manageable number. The purpose of this letter is to transmit the DAEC UFSAR in a simplified format . containing 19 electronic files which together constitute the DAEC UFSAR in its entirety.

• There has been no change in the information since its submittal via the referenced letter. The information on the DVD-ROM submitted herewith as Enclosure 1 is identical, albeit in a reduced number of files, to the information submitted in Enclosure 2 of the referenced letter. Likewise, the information on the DVD-ROM submitted herewith as Enclosure 2 is identical, albeit in a reduced number of files, to the information submitted in Enclosure 3 of the referenced letter. Enclosure 1 transmitted herewith contains Proprietary Information.

When separated from Enclosure 1, this document is decontrolled.

Enclosure 1 to this letter contains security related information as defined by 1 O CFR 2.390(d) and should be withheld from public disclosure.

Enclosure 2 to this letter includes 1 DVD-ROM containing the public version of the DAEC UFSAR. This letter contains no new commitments.
