Dear Mr. Ray ,
By letter dated July 6 , 2017 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML 17177 A446), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commiss i on (NRC) i nformed several licensees of the staff's plan to perform regulatory audits of responses concerning seism i c hazard reevaluations (including seismic probabilistic risk assessments), which are being completed as part of i mplementing lessons learned from the 2011 accident at the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant in Japan. Oconee Nuclear Station , Units 1 , 2 , and 3 (Oconee), was intended to be among the other l i censees to whom the letter was addressed. However , Oconee was inadvertently omitted from the enclosure of addressees.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the aforementioned letter of July 6 , 2017 , applies to Oconee , and the NRC staff will be utilizing the audit process of NRC Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Office Instruction LIC-111 , " Regulatory Audits ," dated December 29 , 2008 (ADAMS Accession No. ML082900195), when reviewing submittals from Oconee regarding reevaluated seismic hazard information.
