Dear Mr. Shea:

On March 3, 2017, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Office of Investigations, initiated an Assist to Staff to obtain additional and clarifying information relative to the discovery of contraband on March 2, 2017. The NRC completed the Assist to Staff and determined that there was no deliberate misconduct or willfulness. We plan no further investigative actions toward Browns Ferry or any individual, with regard to this matter.

Should you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact me at 404-997-4563. The material enclosed herewith contains Security-Related Information in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.390(d)(1), and its disclosure to unauthorized individuals could present a security vulnerability. Therefore, the material in this letter will not be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room, or from the PARS component of NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS).
