NRC MOTOR OPERATED VALVEINSPECTION 50-244/98-06
This letter transmits the results of the NRC special in-office inspection conducted from
April 16 through May 28, 1998 regarding the Ginna Nuclear Power Plant.
The inspection
focused on areas important to the public health and safety, and consisted of an
independent evaluation of the motor-operated valve (MOV) program associated with NRC Generic Letter (GL) 89-10, "Safety-Related Motor-Operated Valve Testing and
Surveillance." At the conclusion of the inspection, the preliminary findings were discussed
with you and members of your staff on June 11, 1998.
Based on the review and closure of open items, the NRC is closing its review of your
program implemented under GL 89-10
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter
and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) ~
