LER 77-09/03L EVENT D3SCRIPTION

- During nomal operation the Primary Vent Stack (PVS) Monitor Particulate Channel alamed. Tne investigation of the alarm
- disclosed that a fuse was blown on the Particulate Channel.

The inst unent was declared inoperative. This instrument is required to be operable per Technical Specification, Section 3.3.3.1.

No releases were in progress at the time of the failure and all planned releases were cancelled. A grab '3 ample was analyzed, results satisfactory.

The paper drive motor was replaced and the channel was returned to operatiot. A channel functional test was performed. The results were satisfactory and the channel was declared operable.

This event is non-repetitive.

CAUSE DESCRIPTION An Ledex stepping motor, Series SQ, No. 216090-026 faile/ to advance the filter paper. The failure of the filter paper advance motor resulted in the overload of the driving transister. 'Ihis in turn caused a blown fuse on the Particulate Channel filter paper drive system. A new motor and fuse were installed.
