FOURTH REPORT Description of Deficiency Additional piping was routed through the turbine-driven auxiliary feedwater During extended periods'of' operating the pump, the turbirig-pump room.

driven auxiliary feedwater pump room maximum upset temperature of 120 F, as specified in TVA environmental design criteria N4-50-D749, may be exceeded based on the calculated room cooling load.

Interim Progress TVA has issued the electrical design drawings referenced in the third report on this deficiency. In order to implement the required corrective action, TVA issued an invitation to bid for replacement fan motors. The design criteria for this system requires that emergency (do-powered) ventilation fan motors be procured qualified for class 1E service. Due to excessive cost and nonresponsive bids, fans with class 1E do-motors cannot be procured. Design criteria exception No.

EX-N4-VW-D740-1 was submitted and approved on April 29, 1983 (NEB 830427 288), to allow procurement of nonclass 1E qualified emergency (do-powered) fan motors. TVA will provide a final report on this deficiency upon procurement of replacement fan motors.
